At the beginning of 2021, international crude oil has soared all the way. In just 4 months, its price has increased by about 35%. The price of domestic chemical products has continued to soar. Chinese water reducing agents (superplasticizer)’s raw material,such as polyether(TPEG/HPEG), Acrylic acid and Industrial Naphthalene-related Products are the main examples. The prices of raw materials have seen significant increases. Figure 1,Figure 2,Figure 3 and Figure 4 are the market price trends of international crude oil, domestic water-reducing agent main raw materials polyether(TPEG/HPEG), acrylic acid and industrial naphthalene in the past.

According to the synthetic production process of superplasticizer, the amount of polyether (TPEG/HPEG) in the mother liquor of ether type Polycarboyxlate high-performance water-reducing agent is more than 30%, acrylic acid accounts for about 4%, and the amount of industrial naphthalene in the naphthalene-based superplasticizer is more than 40%. In the past month, the prices of these three raw materials have increased by 14.8%, 22.8% and 28.5% respectively, which have a direct impact on the raw material costs of water reducer products.
Taking Polycarboxylate high-performance water reducing agent as an example, the price of polyether (TPEG/HPEG) is 10,100 yuan/ton, and the price of acrylic acid is 11600 yuan/ton. Based on this estimate, the sales price of Polycarboxylate high-performance water reducing agent is a reasonable increase compared to December 2020 It should be around 10%.
